About
“This is not picture day.”
My goal is to create a customer service experience that makes people happy. I’ve worked as a photographer for more than 20 years, and during that time, I’ve interacted with many people who just don’t want to do business with photographers. One portrait subject told me, “Your industry is not known for its customer service.”
“I hate getting my picture taken” is something I’ve also heard a hundred times. I get it! Having your photo taken is intimidating. I want to remove all those barriers and create an experience that will leave you smiling.
Our process centers around the idea that we are going to put you in the best position possible to get a photo you like. First, we try to make it easy to schedule with our online booking system. We recommend making your appointment at a time when you won’t feel rushed. Second, we provide optional styling services. We highly recommend that you book these services as our professional hair and makeup artists will make sure you are perfectly picture-ready. And yes, we recommend our stylists for both men and women.
Perhaps most important, we do not do “picture day.” We take full advantage of digital technology to let you see all the photos as we’re shooting them. Your photoshoot will be a collaboration between you and the photographer to explore the best look for you.
Don’t worry, we’ve got you. No one expects you to know exactly what to do in front of a camera. That’s why we gently coach you with body position, smiling techniques and do our best to make you laugh, all with the hopes of creating a genuine smile. No “deer in headlights” are allowed in my studio.
Lastly, the image you select will be retouched. If there are any imperfections that bother you, we will make a note and remove what catches your eye.
